- Choose LexDraft if you want contract review that works on day one: four legal playbooks, rule-based defined-term and cross-reference checks, case-law citations checked against CourtListener, and a free plan with no credit card.
- Choose Claude for Word if you already pay for Claude and want one assistant for every kind of document, including comment threads and counterparty redline summaries.

Frequently asked questions
Is Claude for Word free?
No. Claude for Word is available on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, not on the free Claude plan. LexDraft has a free plan with 5,000 generated words a month.
Can I use both?
Yes. Both are Word add-ins, so you can run a LexDraft playbook review and ask Claude about the same document.
Does either tool replace a lawyer?
No. Anthropic says Claude for Word is not recommended for final client deliverables without human review. LexDraft says qualified counsel must review every draft.
