Getting Started with LexDraft

Installation and Setup

Step 1: Install from Microsoft Marketplace

Visit the Microsoft AppSource marketplace and search for LexDraft. Click the "Get" button to add the add-in to your Microsoft 365 account. You'll need a valid Microsoft account to proceed.

Note: Installation is instant and there's no additional software to download beyond the add-in itself.

Step 2: Open Microsoft Word

Launch Microsoft Word on your desktop or web application. The LexDraft add-in will be automatically available after installation. If you don't see it immediately, restart Word to ensure the add-in loads properly.

LexDraft works with:

• Microsoft Word Online (web)
• Microsoft Word Desktop (Windows)
• Microsoft Word Desktop (Mac)

Step 3: Access the LexDraft Panel

Look for the LexDraft button in the Word ribbon (toolbar). Click it to open the LexDraft side panel on the right side of your screen. The panel contains all the tools you need to generate legal documents.

The LexDraft panel displays:

• Available document templates
• Customization options
• Generation and export controls
• Account and settings

Step 4: Choose a Document Type

In the LexDraft panel, select the type of legal document you want to create. Available templates include:

• NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement)
• Employment Agreements
• Service Agreements
• Lease Agreements
• Partnership Agreements
• Consulting Agreements
• And more...

Each template is designed for specific use cases and includes all standard clauses and provisions.

Step 5: Customize Your Document

Fill in the customization form with your specific details. The form guides you through essential information like:

• Party names and details
• Effective dates and terms
• Compensation and payment terms
• Specific conditions and clauses
• Any additional requirements

Our AI-powered suggestions help ensure your document is complete and legally sound. You can also toggle optional clauses on or off as needed.

Step 6: Generate Your Document

Once you've filled in all required information, click the "Generate" button. LexDraft's AI will create a complete, professionally formatted legal document in your Word document. This typically takes 15-30 seconds depending on document complexity.

The generated document includes:

• All required legal clauses and provisions
• Your customized information properly formatted
• Professional formatting and styling
• Numbered sections and cross-references

Step 7: Review and Export

Review the generated document carefully in Microsoft Word. Make any final edits or adjustments directly in Word. Once satisfied, save your document or export it as:

• .docx (Microsoft Word format) - for further editing
• .pdf - for distribution and signing

Your document is now ready to share, have reviewed by an attorney, or sign electronically.

Troubleshooting

LexDraft Add-in Not Showing in Word

Solution: Restart Microsoft Word after installation. If the issue persists, try:

1. Clear your browser cache (for Word Online)
2. Disable and re-enable the add-in in Word settings
3. Sign out and back into your Microsoft account
4. Reinstall the add-in from the marketplace

Document Generation Takes Too Long

Solution: Check your internet connection and ensure:

• You have a stable, fast internet connection
• You're not at your monthly word limit (for free tier)
• Your browser isn't blocking network requests to LexDraft servers

Generated Document Has Formatting Issues

Solution: Try these steps:

1. Regenerate the document to get a fresh version
2. Use the default Word template for consistent formatting
3. Clear direct formatting in Word (Ctrl+M on Windows, Cmd+M on Mac)
4. Export as PDF and re-open for clean formatting

"Out of Word Limit" Message

Solution: You've reached your monthly word limit on the free tier. Upgrade your plan to:

• Professional Plan: $99/month - unlimited words
• Enterprise Plan: $199/month - unlimited words + priority support
